Pursuit Center’s Power of Pursuit Luncheon Raises More Than $450,000 to Support Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

HOUSTON, TX — Pursuit Center’s 2026 Power of Pursuit Luncheon raised a record-breaking more than $450,000 in support of programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and similar conditions across Greater Houston.
Hosted at Houston Country Club, the sold-out event welcomed approximately 260 attendees, including community leaders, donors, advocates, and families united in support of Pursuit Center’s mission to empower individuals of all abilities to live meaningful, connected lives.
Guest speakers Chris and Nik Nikic brought energy and inspiration to the room as they shared their journey to accomplish something never done before. Their message focused on perseverance, inclusion, and the power of incremental progress — reminding attendees that becoming “1% better every day” can help all of us move closer to our goals and dreams.
“The incredible support shown at this year’s luncheon reflects the strength of a community that believes in inclusion, opportunity, and the limitless potential of the individuals we serve,” said Charles Njuguna, President and CEO of Pursuit Center. “Chris and Nik’s message perfectly captured the spirit of Pursuit Center and the importance of continuing to push forward together.”
The event’s “Power of Pursuit” theme celebrated resilience, achievement, and forward momentum, highlighting the transformative impact of Pursuit Center’s programs and the importance of expanding opportunities for individuals with IDD and autism.
Proceeds from the luncheon will directly support Pursuit Center’s employment services, wellness programming, residential and community living options, and educational and recreational opportunities for individuals with IDD and autism throughout the Greater Houston area.
